He is the earliest Kingwell ancestor we can be reasonably sure of. He spelt his name Kingwill. Yeoman farmer. He left to all his children from both wives in his will.

Of course there may well be others I have not been able to find.
The Loddiswell one looks tempting as Loddiswell is not far from Modbury. Richard Kingwell and Elizabeth Witheridge married 15 May 1725 in Woodleigh. I have checked the parish records and there are two burials for Richard Kingwill on 20 Jan 1732 and 6 Feb 1734. These could well be father and son. There are no records of any other Kingwells in Loddiswell that I have found.
The Coldridge one is also interesting. Coldridge is farther away but there are names such as Eve and Samuel who are probably the same family and these names occur in Richard's children. Eve, in particular, is a rare name in Devon at this time.
